Roadway Concrete Replacement Project

Project Scope

Removed 9" thick reinforced concrete pavement, excavated and re-graded roadway prior to placing stone base and new reinforced concrete pavement.

More specifically: Tuttle provided removal and replacement of approximately 2,697 square yards of concrete pavement located between building no. 147 and 186. The existing 9" thick concrete pavement was removed and disposed of at an environmental approved off site dump. The new 9" thick high-early strength concrete pavement included steel reinforcing bars and dowel bars and were installed in two phases with a minimum of 14 days cure time between each phase. Plant traffic was maintained throughout both phases of construction at the request of the plant manager. Extensive paperwork and coordination with the Corp. of Engineers and the General Dynamic's management team was necessary to maintain the plants daily activities with as little effect from the construction crews as possible.
